Late on Wednesday evening (or Thursday morning depending on your time zone), the Savage Crucible Kickstarter smashed through its $242,000 threshold to unlock the third wave of figures.
If you’re an H.P. Lovecraft fan (or just like awesome armored fish warriors), then this is likely the news you were waiting for to pull the trigger on some of these fantastic-looking toys.

One thing to keep in mind is that as cool as those digital renders are, they don’t do any form to justice how phenomenal they look in hand. YouTuber D Amazing has a great review of one of the Fathom Scout prototypes, which is what sent me flying over the edge to add one to my own order.
Two things to note in the video:
- The prototype is a bit fragile, but you still get a good idea of how superb the articulation will be on the final figures.
- There is an alternate head shown for the Fathom Scout that is not currently included with the figure, but might be if funding continues at the pace it’s going right now.
The whole wave is up for order right now, which can be added to existing pledges individually or with a discounted All-In option (which includes two of those nifty coins).
