Suit up because we’re taking another trip to the dark and gritty Hell’s Kitchen with Disney Plus’ upcoming show, Daredevil: Born Again. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) returns as Daredevil in the Marvel studios reboot of the much-loved Netflix series, Daredevil, which ended after three exciting seasons in 2018.
Daredevil is a Marvel character who works as a lawyer and moonlights as a crime fighter in midtown Manhattan. He was blinded by a chemical accident as a child, but it left him with special abilities. And after his appearance in recent Marvel projects, fans were happy to know that the man without fear will be making a comeback with his show as part of MCU’s phase five.
Is Daredevil: Born Again Season 4 or a Reboot?

According to Cox, this won’t be a season four or pick up where the Netflix show left off. It’s a complete reboot and re-imagination of the beloved comic book characters’ story. The actor says that while it will have fewer gory scenes, the Disney + show will retain its dark theme and target a wider audience this time, hopefully without losing what original fans came to love about it.
Now that Netflix’s license for Marvel characters is ending, the rights are reverting to Disney. That’s why you might not be able to find shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher, or The Defenders on Netflix in the future.
Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, also commented on Twitter about what to expect from the upcoming reboot of the superhero series, Daredevil: Born Again.
It’s going to be very very cool. Very different than the Netflix show which was as we know was amazing. Yet this is brand new and really smart.

Daredevil: Born Again Release Date:
Nearly five years since the end of Netflix’s Daredevil, Matt Murdock is finally returning to our screens in Daredevil: Born Again. With filming expected to last from February through December 2023, the first season is set to drop in early spring 2024.

Cox hopes the series will be faithful to the 1986 Marvel Born Again comic books storyline by Frank Miller and illustrated by David Mazzucchelli. With Matt Corman and Chris Ord writing and Kevin Feige executive producing the series, this Disney+ show is set to be a hit. It’s suspected to follow Kingpin Wilson Fisk, the mob boss, as he plans his political career to run for Mayor.
According to The Cosmic Circus, his journey as mayor is expected to start in the Marvel studios series Echo and continue in Daredevil: Born Again. While most details are still under wraps, we can only speculate what direction this show will take.
The series is also likely to focus on Murdock’s legal career, which isn’t surprising considering most of the Marvel-Disney collaborations have been geared towards superhero’s normal lives away from their vigilante activities. Despite what happened to Fisk in Marvel’s Hawkeye, he is still expected to be the main villain in this upcoming series.

According to D’Onofrio, the series will focus more on Daredevil and Kingpin’s relationship than ever before. And it will be both physically and emotionally intense. While fans hope to see more Defenders like Luke Cage and Jessica Jones in this new series, more information about additional cast members will surely be released within the year as production continues. So for an origin story, this Disney+ series could work.
Daredevil: Born Again Cast

Fans of the series will be happy to know that Charlie Cox is reprising his role as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, in the upcoming Marvel series on Disney +. This isn’t the first time we see Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and other MCU shows like She:Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he made his infamous walk of shame after a night with the lawyer, Jennifer Walters.

The mob boss and businessman, Wilson Fisk, will also appear as a villain in this series, played by Vincent D’Onofrio. He appeared in Hawkeye, so he was expected to return in future projects for Marvel. John Bernthal’s Punisher will return in a major role in Daredevil: Reborn. Bernthal played Frank Castle/the Punisher in Netflix’s Daredevil and his spinoff series, The Punisher (2017-2019).
According to the Hollywood Reporter, some beloved stars won’t be reprising their roles for the new show. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who appeared on the show as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, have not yet been announced to return for the reboot series. It’s still unclear whether they will be recast or appear in later seasons of the show.

Deadline reports that Arty Froushan, known for the Carnival Row series on Prime Video, has also joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again in an undisclosed role. Other cast members joining the reboot include Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, and Sandrine Holt. Sandrine Holt replaces Ayelet Zurer from Netflix’s Daredevil as Vanessa Fisk — Kingpin’s wife.
How Many Episodes to expect in Daredevil: Born Again
Kevin Feige stated the Disney+ series is expected to be 18 episodes long. Speaking at the D23 Expo, the Marvel Studios head said that Daredevil: Born Again season one production would start filming in late February 2023 and air on Disney +. But with the current Marvel fatigue even at Disney, it won’t be surprising if they decide to split these episodes into two seasons.
