Welcome back to another edition of Fantastic Five! This week was a varied one, as four publishers grabbed spots in our top five countdown of the best comics of the week. Let’s take a look!
#5: Terrorwar #1
You’ll want to explore the world of Terrorwar once you start reading. It blends sci-fi horror and social commentary with an eclectic mix of characters. Throw in the concept of nightmares coming alive, and it’s bound to find a place in your pull list.

#4: Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #14
Batman/Superman: World’s Finest: #14 is another solid issue in the story. In a pleasant shift from the supernatural and cosmic threats Batman and Superman often face, this arc is succeeding in staying rather grounded while remaining interesting. This series is a must-read for all DC fans as it continues its trend of taking the core of characters and perfecting them in new and exciting challenges and battles.

#3: X-Force #39
X-Force #39 is an efficient issue that features politics, team building, tons of characters getting a chance to shine, and good art. As we wait for Beast to get his due, the team seems to be on track for a new era and resurgence.

#2: Sonic the Hedgehog #59
Overall, a very strong issue, and a nice return to the comic after nearly two months. It was really cool getting to see some of the less played-with elements of the Sonic world get some time to shine. I hope in Team Dark’s case this won’t be a one time deal – they’re so popular with fans I find it odd we don’t have more of them at this point. Maybe Sega will greenlight some kind of solo series or mini for them in the future? I think that’d go over pretty well considering how well they’re done here. Some solid spectacle with fantastic art, what more can ya ask for?
#1: Punisher #11
Punisher #11 is thought-provoking, revealing what kind of family Frank Castle had before it was taken from him. This helps recontextualize the series, Punisher himself, and how he will be changed forever once the series ends. Punisher is ambitious, perfectly paced, and will have you gripping your chair in anticipation.
