This week, Warner Bros. released a second trailer for The Flash, which gave us significantly more to look at than the previous teaser.
Even if you’re a DC fan who’s kept up with their various film and television projects, that is A LOT to take in. Let’s go over a few of the highlights.
- We at Wayne Manor open with Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne/Batman lamenting the death of his parents…because you can’t have a Batman movie without that. All snark aside, this will actually lead to a really cool moment in a bit.
- Batsuits galore, including what appear to be the ones from the 90’s Batman films.
- Bruce Wayne points out that all battles he fought as Batman could never bring back his parents before pointing out that Barry actually managed to do it.
- Barry reliving the day his parents died before realizing that his trip back in time might have caused some really bad stuff to happen.
- Case in point: Zod is totally wrecking Metropolis during what’s presumably the events of Man of Steel sans the Man of Steel himself.
- Barry and Alternate Barry team up with Supergirl. They are joined by Michael Keaton as he utters one of the most quotable lines from the 1989 Batman movie.
- Not sure how I feel about Alternate Barry/Barry-2’s suit. Everyone in this shot still looks awesome, though.
- Barry-1 realizing that he needs to undo what he’s done while getting a little pep talk from Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne/Batman.
- More Battfleck awesomeness, this time featuring the Batcyle and Batplane.
- A gorgeous shot of Supergirl flying with what appears to be one of the Barrys who’s not in good shape.
- Supergirl yells “WHAT DID YOU DO” before knocking the crap out of Zod and collapsing.
- Both Batmen being awesome intercut with scenes of Barry in the Speed Force (and maybe sacrificing himself). This leads to both Barrys arguing about what they should do to fix what’s happened.
- One of Zod’s troopers jumps on the Michael Keaton Batman’s jet and yanks him out, allowing us to watch some thrilling aerial acrobatics.
- Both Barrys marveling at how Batman jumps out of a plane without a parachute (along with some well-time Batplane placement).
The Flash will debut in theatres on June 16
