On Wednesday, Netflix announced that Black Mirror will be returning this June for its sixth season. Although we didn’t get an exact release day, they were nice enough to provide us with a pretty cool trailer.
Normally when the writers/producers of a series proclaim it to be “the most unpredictable season yet” (as stated in the official Netflix press release), you can cynically write that off as marketing hype. After watching the trailer, however, they might not be bluffing.
From scenes of retail violence to 90’s internet connections to the far reaches of outer space, it appears that Black Mirror‘s sixth season will be expansive at the very least. It will also sport a star-studded cast that already includes the following:
