Welcome back to another edition of Fantastic Five, our Friday tradition where we celebrate the best comics of the week! This week features a perfect 10 as a beloved series comes to an end, an excellent one-shot, two #1s and the continuation of a DC series. Let’s take a look at the books!
#5: Spirit World #2
It is truly difficult to find any flaws in Spirit World #2, with my main feedback being “I want even more!” Alyssa Wong’s writing is, unsurprisingly, insightful and delicious, perfectly blending humorous dialogue and emotional revelations to continue the development of new hero Xanthe and classic heroes Constantine and Cain. Chock-full of intriguing action and meaningful plot progression, Haining and Sebastian Cheng’s gorgeous art pairs perfectly with the familial drama and supernatural excitement Wong brings to Spirit World #2, making the issue a must-read for any fan of DCs new hero Xanthe Zhou, or the beloved icons John Constantine and Cassandra Cain.

#4: Void Rivals #1
Void Rivals is an intriguing comic that takes a bold swing at introducing a significant new Skybound property. For that alone, this issue is exciting, but you’ll likely be wishing for a bit more when the issue reaches its “to be continued” moment.

#3: Captain America: Cold War Omega #1
Cold War Omega is a bittersweet book because it’s an extremely exciting chapter to a terrific saga of Cap lore, but it also signals the incoming conclusion to what has become one of the all-time great eras in Captain America history.

#2: Klik Klik Boom #1
Overall, Klik Klik Boom #1 is a really fun read that will leave you wanting more. The pacing is great, the storytelling is terrific, and the characters are all really engaging. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!

#1: Captain Marvel #50
Sometimes I lament that comics just don’t seem to have lengthier runs and are cut short. You rarely see series make it to issue #50, let alone get the chance to wrap up their run instead of being cut off abruptly. I’m so glad Captain Marvel was the rare modern comic series to make it four years strong. Kelly Thompson has so much to be proud of with this run and Carol fans have had so much to love in the last four years.
