Tom Brevoort’s weekly newsletter is a delight, offering fans insights into decisions and his opinions, and today it appears he’s named Wil Moss as head Avengers editor.
Currently, Brevoort is the main editor for Avengers titles, but in his newsletter, he said:
“…we’re kicking off AVENGERS UNITED with a 25-part story featuring the standing Avengers team. And after that, the series will be Wil Moss’s problem as the incoming AVENGERS editor. So it all really depends on how Wil chooses to use it.”
Avengers United is a Marvel Unlimited series announced and kicked off yesterday. The 25-issue arc will be split into five chapters and released weekly. Marvel announced the new property during the Avengers Assemble panel and pushed the first chapter live at the same time.
This isn’t the first time Brevoort made news announcing editorial roles. Back on August 11, he revealed via his newsletter he’d be taking over the X-Men line in 2024. Since Brevoort is moving on to manage the entire X-Men lineup it makes sense he’d no longer edit Avengers, although he has stated he won’t be leaving Fantastic Four anytime soon.
