Helldivers 2: The fastest way to level

When it comes to distributing democracy at the highest levels possible, some methods are faster than others.

Helldivers 2 is one of the biggest gaming surprises of the year. Initially releasing to little fanfare, the game quickly rose to one of the most played games on Steam, and has become so popular that major server upgrades were needed to meet player demand almost immediately. While the game is incredibly fun to play at any level, more stratagems, weapons, and difficulty levels await you as you level up. Thankfully, there are some pretty quick ways to increase your level. So if you want to catch up to your friends, or just reach the maximum level of 50 as quickly as possible, follow these tips.

How to level fastest in Helldivers 2

By far, the fastest way to level in Helldivers 2 are the “Eradicate” missions. These missions can be done against either teminids or automatons, and simply require you to kill a specific number of enemies while defending your base. In comparison to most missions which can take upwards of 40 minutes, Eradicate missions have a maximum timer of 10 minutes, and can often be completed in around five minutes. They give nearly the same amount of XP as fully completing a standard map, so doing these missions over and over again can result in some very quick leveling.

“Blitz” missions are another solid option, clocking in at a timer of just 12 minutes, but they can be far more hectic and difficult than the Eradicate missions. If you’re just looking to grind levels, spam Eradicate missions.

We recommend that you unlock higher difficulties as soon as you can, as well. To do this, you need to complete an Operation on your current hardest difficulty. Often times, you can find an Operation that contains both an Eradicate and a Blitz mission, meaning you can complete the Operation quickly. Once you’ve unlocked that next difficulty, spam a few Eradicate missions, find a quick Operation to unlock the next difficulty, and rinse and repeat until you’re on Helldive difficulty.

Good luck out there, soldiers!
