Look out PlayStation VR2, PCVR via Steam, and Meta Quest 3. There is a new VR gaming system on the horizon and it provides a full body experience. Developer Vitruix recently announced that its Omni One VR rig will launch on September 10, 2024.
Vitruix’s state-of-the-art system features a customized Pico 4 Enterprise headset and a proprietary 360-degree treadmill, which allows players to physically walk, run, crouch, kneel, jump, and strafe in all directions. This provides a high degree of freedom and a fully immersive VR experience where the entire body is engaged.
In addition to the hardware, players will have access to a dedicated game store that currently has over 50 titles optimized specifically for the Omni One. Titles include Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, Amid Evil VR, and Sniper Elite VR. The library is a good mix of third party games and those developed by Vitruix , and more games will be added on a rolling basis.
For an additional monthly fee, players can subscribe to Omni Online to enjoy online multiplayer gameplay, access to leaderboards and esports contests, saving games in the cloud, and much more. The Omni One also will support a PC connection to play PC-based games via SteamVR and any VR headset that’s compatible with PC.
