‘My Hero Academia: Vigilantes’ trailer: Breaking the law to do good

A first look at the spinoff anime My Hero Academia: Vigilantes which debuts April 7.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a spinoff manga from Hideyuki and Betten Court that takes place prior to the flagship series created by Kohei Horikoshi. It was adapted into an anime, and streaming platform Crunchyroll released an all-new trailer to give fans a sneak peek ahead of its April 7 premiere. 

The story follows a college student named Koichi Haimawari, who gave up on his dream to become a hero. Despite 80% of the world’s population possessing superpowers called Quirks, only a select few are chosen to assume the role of hero and protect the general population. One day, Koichi and Pop☆Step are saved by a vigilante named Knuckleduster and he recruits the duo to follow in his footsteps.

Watch the trailer for My Hero Academia: Vigilantes below, which also includes the theme song “Kekka Orai” performed by Kocchi no Kendo. 

The series is directed by Kenichi Suzuki, written by Yosuke Kuroda, with animation produced by bones film. Other staff credits include character design by Takahiko Yoshida; art director Yukihiro Watanabe; color design by Haruko Nobori; director of photography Yingying Zhang; 3DCG director Mizuki Sasaki; editing by Kiyoshi Hirose; music composed by Yuki Hayashi; Shogo Yamashiro, and Yuki Furuhashi; and sound director Masafumi Mima.

The anime will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide excluding Asia with new episodes premiering weekly on the same day as Japan.
