Rockstar Games shocked fans by releasing a brand-new GTA 6 trailer after it confirmed the game’s delay late last week. The preview reveals quite a bit about the upcoming installment of the massive franchise. From locations to new characters, this trailer might just be enough to quench fans’ thirsts — for now.
GTA 6’s second trailer reveals a lot of new information
The trailer shows GTA 6’s protagonist, Jason Michaels, casually cruising through Vice City while making a few stops. Then, he goes to pick up his love interest and the game’s other leading character, Lucia Caminos, from prison as it is revealed that she is finally getting out. The couple happily reunite and celebrate Lucia’s newfound freedom. The trailer also introduces the game’s cast of characters both old and new (Raul Bautista, Brian Heder, Real Dimez, etc).
GTA 6 is set to arrive 13 years after GTA 5. The game was delayed from 2025 to 2026 because Rockstar wants to ensure that the highly anticipated game is up to par with what its loyal fans deserve. While this news initially upset fans, most gamers were able to understand why the company wanted to wait and appreciated the high standards Rockstar set for itself.
GTA 6 will officially be released on May 26, 2026 — date is subject to change.
