Marvel packed a whole convention’s worth of reveals into one panel at New York Comic Con today. With Marvel President Dan Buckley, EIC C.B. Cebulski, Nick Lowe, Wil Moss, Deniz Camp, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Chris Condon, and surprise guest Joshua Williamson taking the stage, fans got clarity on the fate of the Ultimate line, a brand-new Iron Man launch, a Doom-themed horror showcase, and meaty updates across Spider-Man and Hulk.
Also: Connecticut pizza discourse. (The room booed.)
Ultimate Endgame: a real ending (and a victory lap)
-
“It’s the end of the Ultimate Universe.” Nick Lowe confirmed Ultimate Endgame truly ends the line in 2026—no wink, no swerve.
-
Buckley said Hickman pitched a two-year story and Marvel committed to giving it a beginning and a proper ending. “Every great story begets another great story,” Buckley teased, pointing to Ultimate Incursion as the bridge to what’s next.
-
Deniz Camp got emotional describing Endgame as “the culmination of everything” across the line, promising big swings, surprise characters who haven’t appeared yet, and “bonkers” moments.
-
Structure and build-up:
-
Ultimates #17 (art by Phil Noto) is a “thematic sequel” to #4—Doom assembling “his kind of Fantastic Four.”
-
Ultimates #18 gathers the whole Ultimate Universe.
-
Ultimates #19–20 spotlight Wasp, Nick Fury, and a “secret character.”
-
Ultimate Universe: Two Years In will feature Ultimate Daredevil (art by Javier Pulido). Alex Paknadel will also write the issue.
-
-
Blind-bag first: Marvel is launching a True Believers Blind Bag for Ultimate Endgame #1—randomized variant covers and randomly inserted 1-of-1 original sketch pieces inside bags. “We’re not the first to do blind bags, but we aim to be the best,” Lowe said; Cebulski added the sketches will be completely at random.
Ultimate line check-ins
-
Ultimate Spider-Man #22–24: a “rollercoaster” finale with Sinister Six and surprise allies; more Ben & Jonah to come (panelists joked it’d be the one spinoff that survives).
-
Ultimate Wolverine #12–13: issue #12 “in conversation” with #1; #13 features the Maker on the cover and is “very Magik-driven,” with Omega Red and Colossus as big bads.
-
Ultimate Black Panther: last issues dig into the true origins of Vibranium and Storm as “Child of Light.”
-
Ultimate X-Men (Peach Momoko): a massive cast gets their moments in the final issues—Camp called Momoko “the all-star of the line.”
-
On fan questions: “Where’s the second Miles?” Camp said to “keep reading Ultimate Incursion.”
New Iron Man ongoing (January 2026): Williamson & Carnero
“It’s been a few months since the last Iron Man ended,” Lowe said—so here’s the “grand return”: Joshua Williamson writing with Carmen Carnero on art; Ryan Stegman drew the #1 cover.
-
Premise: Madame Masque kidnaps geniuses worldwide to recreate the crucible that forged Iron Man.
-
Tagline: “Tony Stark is the most dangerous weapon in the Marvel Universe.” Williamson framed it as: “Tony built Tony in that cave. What if he had to go in again?”
-
Cast & curveballs: a new, masked Citizen V, plus Pepper Potts and War Machine.
-
Williamson: “I’m a HUGE Iron Man fan,” and this is a plot he’s been carrying for over a decade.

Dungeons of Doom (January 2026): horror anthology in Latveria
Spinning out of One World Under Doom, Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Ben Percy team with Carlos Magno, Robert Gil, Justin Mason, and Georges Jeanty on a Marvel horror showcase born from a shared love of Creepy and Eerie.
-
A massive Latverian conflict uncovers a hidden Doom stronghold—a labyrinth of rooms filled with the nightmares he’s stockpiled.
-
Expect Latverian freedom fighters, Wakandan spies, and multiple factions prying open doors best left closed.
-
PKJ: “Comics is about making cool sh*t with your friends.”
Infernal Hulk: the monster of the whole Marvel Universe
Incredible Hulk writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson previewed the road to Infernal Hulk:
-
“Act 1 puts the pieces on the board; the Age of Monsters begins in earnest.”
-
Issue #30 is “unbelievable” with “violence like you’ve never seen in a Marvel book.”
-
Infernal Hulk’s look (scar and all) is story-driven, and his power set changes—including the power of corruption.
-
“Hulk has been Banner’s monster; Infernal Hulk is the Marvel Universe’s monster,” PKJ said. “He becomes everyone’s problem.”
-
Panel-exclusive variants of #29 spotlight Nic Klein’s Infernal Hulk designs.
The vibe
Marvel emphasized planning and closure. The Ultimate line gets the rare gift of a fully architected ending; Iron Man returns with a character-driven hook; Doom gets a haunted house the size of a country; and Hulk scales from personal horror to everyone’s nightmare. If this is the “next big thing,” it’s also a promise: finish strong, then go bigger.
