On day two of NYCC 2025, Comicpop’s Sal Crivelli moderated IDW’s panel on what’s coming next in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe.
TMNT x Godzilla
Tim Seeley is writing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla, and Fero Pe is drawing. Seeley had this to say: “The premise of our series is essentially a distilled version of both the Turtles and Godzilla, of which they’re the perfect version we all love. But the Turtles are called away from a particular mission because Godzilla has attacked Tokyo, and we find out a secret history, a shared history with the Foot Clan, Odo Island, and Godzilla itself. It’s taking all the elements from going back to the 1954 Godzilla movie, every cool kaiju you’ve ever wanted to see. And there will definitely be action figures. There will definitely be toys for you to play with.”

Shredder and Casey Jones
The first issue of Shredder is out now, and issue #2 drops October 15th. Dan Watters explained why Shredder is so cool: “I mean, look at him. I love a villain. I love writing them. Rather than a hero, the thing that often makes a villain a villain is that they bend the world to their will, rather than the other way around. He has decided what the world is, and he is going to force it into that cookie cutter with big blades.” Casey Jones #2 will be out November 19th.

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the new comic based on the hit movie, will be available October 15th. Attendees of NYCC were able to snag issue #1 with an exclusive cover early at the IDW booth during the convention. Andrew Joustra talked about what he loves about this version of the Turtles:
“They’re teenagers. They’re really teenagers. They’re not very good at being ninjas, at least not yet. With the movie, we took so much inspiration from the kids, young men now, who voiced the Turtles and tried to just make it as authentically teenager as possible and really explore that side of them. And what does that mean when you’re sneaking around being sort of vigilantes and also secretly wanting to just have a normal life and go to school? And so I think that is really the big selling point of this iteration, is that we get to see that in a way that other versions maybe not as much.”

TMNT: Battle Nexus
Battle Nexus will be a biweekly series, beginning December 24th. The Turtles will be fighting for their lives in a martial arts challenge unlike anything they’ve faced. They will be meeting allies from other TMNT universes. Each issue will also feature a one-page backup strip written by Erik Burnham and drawn by Sarah Myer. Myer assured fans there would be genuine surprises about who would win certain battles, and it isn’t always who you would expect.
