Mad Cave Studios has announced Where Does the Rainbow End?, the next haunting sci-fi fable from acclaimed Italian creators Francesca Perillo and Stefano Cardoselli, the visionary team behind Don’t Spit in the Wind and Love Me: A Romance Story. Known for their surreal worldbuilding and emotional storytelling, Perillo and Cardoselli once again merge grit and heartache in a world where rust and circuitry have replaced flesh and feeling.
Reuniting the entire creative team from their past collaborations—colorist Lorenzo Scaramella (A Legacy of Violence) and letterer Buddy Beaudoin (Eat Your Young)—Where Does the Rainbow End? also features a stunning variant cover by Stephen Byrne (Serenity, Green Arrow, Wonder Twins).
Set in a world built from rust and circuitry, Where Does the Rainbow End? follows Gilda, a young girl abandoned by her human parents and discovered in the Cacace Bros. Robot Dump, where she’s raised by compassionate machines. Protected within the Rainbow Sector, Gilda grows up shielded from the dangers of the human world—and from the terrifying Dark Cage, home to the most violent and deranged robots in existence.
But when word spreads of Gilda’s rare gift—the power to repair broken robots—a menacing machine from the Dark Cage sets his sights on her. He demands she use her gift to resurrect the violent robots imprisoned there… and nothing will stand in his way.
A meditation on humanity, survival, and the blurry line between creator and creation, Where Does the Rainbow End? looks poised to be another striking entry in Mad Cave’s growing lineup of emotional, genre-bending science fiction.
Stay tuned for release details and exclusive previews soon, because in this world of cold metal and flickering light, the most fragile thing left might just be a human heart.
