Inferno Girl Red: Book Two #1 makes a return to one of the Massiveverse’s most underrated heroes, while delivering plenty of action and emotional moments. More importantly, it hasn’t lost what made the first series such an excellent read.

Ultimate Universe: Two Years In #1 is a stirring story that crosses time and space while reminding its readers that every hero is shaped by the choices they make or don’t make. The Ultimate Universe might be heading toward its end, but if this one-shot is any indication, it’s gonna go out on a high note.

‘JSA’ #14 deepens the Year One mystery with one major problem

Although Lemire and Guidry’s JSA: Year One storyline is off to a good start, the only thing that would make it better would be sticking to the actual core characters that formed the JSA in All-Star Comics #3. Unless Diana Trevor arriving on Paradise Island is still canon to entice Queen Hippolyta to return to Man’s World (and without a Donna Troy origin to fix for the umpteenth time), revisiting this idea may end up hurting Wonder Woman’s core mythology more than it would enrich its legacy.

Poison Ivy #39 neatly closes the circle on an ongoing drama that revolves around tensions between Ivy and Janet, which has put tremendous difficulty on their friendship. In this issue, we see Ivy and Janet’s relationship spinning in a direction that creates complications for Ivy’s relationship with Harley Quinn.
