Marvel has dropped a cryptic new teaser, and it makes one thing clear: the next phase of Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein’s Hulk saga is heading toward all-out war.
“THE MARVEL UNIVERSE BRACES ITSELF FOR HULK’S INFERNAL RAGE!”
The publisher confirmed that Johnson and Klein’s sprawling Infernal Hulk epic will likely conclude in 2027 with HULK WAR, signaling a massive escalation for a run that has steadily transformed the Jade Giant into something far older and more terrifying than ever before.
Details remain tightly under wraps, but the title alone suggests that the broader Marvel Universe will soon be forced to reckon with the Father of Horrors.
In a recent AIPT interview that has yet to run in full (probably next week), Johnson teased that this widening scope has been part of the design all along.
“The Infernal Hulk chapter of the story is the one where Hulk really interacts a lot more with the wider Marvel universe,” Johnson said. “Now he’s on the radar of all the biggest, all the heaviest hitters in the Marvel U.”
After more than thirty issues spent laying groundwork, introducing the Mother of Horrors, and redefining Hulk through a folk-horror lens, Johnson described the current stretch as Act Two of a larger plan.
“This is kind of the time when I’m going to keep that promise,” he said. “Trying to make it really clear in the stories, but also through the covers to readers that this is becoming a bigger and bigger problem for the Marvel leaders.”
Recent issues have already teased confrontations with Iron Man and the X-Men, while Bruce Banner himself has stepped away from the monster, leaving something far more ancient in control. If Infernal Hulk has been about myth-building and escalation, Hulk War sounds like the reckoning.

Marvel promises more details in the months ahead. For now, one thing is certain: when HULK WAR erupts in 2027, the Marvel Universe may not survive unchanged.
