Superfan Podcast returns for season two with deep dives into creators’ passions

Season two of the Superfan Podcast explores the fandoms that shape today’s top comic creators, from wrestling and K-pop to horror and beyond.

What inspires the people behind comics and graphic novels?

Season Two of the Superfan Podcast sets out to answer that by looking beyond the page. Co-hosts Kristen Simon, Christian Gossett, and David Hyde sit down with some of the industry’s biggest names to talk about the passions that shape them outside of comics, and how those interests connect back to their creative work.

The new season kicks off with Jim Rugg, diving into professional wrestling in a lively, wide-ranging conversation. From there, the lineup expands to include Maia Kobabe on K-pop, Johnnie Christmas on Midnight Mass, Paul Pope on guitarist Rowland S. Howard, Erica Henderson on Terry Pratchett, and Elsa Charretier on dog training. Each episode blends personal fandom with creative insight, with the hosts also sharing themed recipes and drinks inspired by the discussion.

At its core, the podcast focuses on the human side of creativity. Hyde points to the importance of celebrating artists and their passions, while Gossett highlights the value of exploring the influences that shape storytelling choices. Simon adds that these conversations offer a chance to trace how fandom evolves over time, giving listeners a deeper understanding of the creators they admire.
