Exclusive preview: ‘House of Slaughter Book Two Deluxe’ expands the Slaughterverse’s darkest corners

New stories peel back the secrets of the Order, revealing the cost of survival inside the Slaughterverse.

The Slaughterverse continues to grow this summer, and AIPT has an exclusive preview of House of Slaughter Book Two Deluxe, the latest oversized collection diving deeper into the world behind Something is Killing the Children.

Arriving July 21, the premium hardcover gathers three complete arcs that explore the hidden structure and history of the Order of St. George. Through multiple perspectives, the collection pulls back the curtain on the organization that shaped Erica Slaughter, revealing a system built on hierarchy, secrecy, and control.

The stories come from James Tynion IV and Sam Johns, with art by Werther Dell’Edera and Letizia Cadonici. Together, they expand the scope of the Slaughterverse by focusing on characters operating within different factions of the House.

At the center of this volume are three distinct threads. Edwin, a Scarlet Mask scribe, is pulled into a dangerous field mission that tests his place within the Order. Bait, a mute White Mask operative, navigates both human cruelty and supernatural threats while living in a group home. Nolan, tied to the Azure Mask, uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to fracture the House from within. Each storyline offers a different angle on what it means to serve the Order and the cost that comes with it.

The deluxe format packages these arcs in a hardcover edition with a slipcase, presenting the material in a way that matches the scale of the story. It also continues BOOM! Studios’ push to position the Slaughterverse as one of the most fully realized horror worlds in comics today.

Josh Hayes, VP of Sales and Marketing, described the collection as a standout entry in the line, pointing to its willingness to explore difficult themes while still grounding the story in character-driven moments.

Since its debut, Something is Killing the Children has grown into a major success, with millions of copies sold and multiple award nominations. With a television adaptation in development, the world continues to expand, and House of Slaughter Book Two Deluxe adds another layer to that mythology.

The collection hits shelves July 21, giving readers a deeper look at the forces shaping one of comics’ most unsettling horror universes.
