Todd McFarlane’s influence on comics and collectibles continues to collide this summer as Marvel Comics unveils a new line of variant covers spotlighting McFarlane Toys’ popular Marvel Rivals statues.
Arriving in July, the new McFarlane Toys Marvel Rivals Variant Covers showcase characters from the hit multiplayer game through high-resolution photography of the collectible statues. The covers feature Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain America, Magneto, and the breakout fan-favorite Jeff the Land Shark.
The variants celebrate a line of statues that has quickly gained attention for translating the game’s distinctive character designs into highly detailed 3D collectibles. Each cover highlights the dynamic poses and sculpted details that have become a hallmark of McFarlane Toys releases.
While Todd McFarlane is best known to comic fans as the creator of Spawn and a legendary Spider-Man artist, his toy company has spent decades building a reputation for detailed collectibles across comics, gaming, film, and television. The Marvel Rivals line marks another major collaboration between McFarlane Toys and Marvel, arriving as the game’s popularity continues to grow.
Marvel describes the covers as a way to capture the fast-paced energy that has helped make Marvel Rivals one of the hottest games in the industry. Rather than traditional illustrated artwork, the covers put the spotlight directly on the statues themselves, effectively turning each comic into a showcase for McFarlane’s latest collectibles.
The announcement also coincides with the upcoming release of the next wave of Marvel Rivals statues from McFarlane Toys. Fans interested in adding the collectibles to their shelves will be able to preorder them through the McFarlane Toys website in the near future.
