Braun Strowman is your winner of the Greatest Royal Rumble.
The biggest Royal Rumble in WWE history has just concluded at the aptly named Greatest Royal Rumble from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The night’s (or afternoon’s, for those of us in the United States) main event was a massive 50 man Royal Rumble match involving most of the men’s main roster, as well as some NXT talents, Hall of Famers, and oddball surprise entries.
The story of the match was largely about Daniel Bryan, who entered at number one and set the Royal Rumble record for longest time spent in a Rumble match, lasting an hour and fifteen minutes. However, he was ultimately eliminated by new rival Big Cass, when there were only three competitors left.
Cass attempted to clothesline the Monster Among Men out of the ring after disposing of Bryan, but was unsuccessful.
Strowman, who was responsible for the most spectacular moment in the match when he chokeslammed Shane McMahon off the top rope through an announce table, received the first ever Greatest Royal Rumble trophy, as well as a commemorative championship belt.
