This year marks the 10th anniversary of Nier, Yoko Taro’s third-person action-RPG which spun out of the Drakengard series in 2010. In celebration, Square-Enix is releasing a remaster of Nier Replicant, an alternate version of the game originally only available in Japan. In Replicant, protagonist Nier is a teenage boy rather than the adult man players of the original Nier–dubbed Nier Gestalt in the East–may know. You can watch the teaser trailer for the remaster, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, here!
It should be noted that the remaster was announced for PS4 and Xbox One. As we approach the currently slated launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X later this year, we’ll have to keep a closer eye on what logos appear at the end of teaser’s like these. Fortunately, Nier fans with current-gen consoles won’t have to shell out the big bugs to play the remaster of Replicant. However, there is no confirmed release date for this title, so said fans might still have some waiting to do.
