Stranded Deep launches for PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow, April 21

Fend off sharks, starvation, the elements and more in this ultimate survival game.

It’s been five years since Beam Team Games opened Steam early access for their tropical island survival game, Stranded Deep, and after nearly losing the game to the closure of their former publisher Telltale Games, it’s finally launching on PS4 and Xbox One. Tomorrow, April 21, 2020, you can put your survival skills to the ultimate test in this first-person survival simulator that pits you against the might of the Pacific Ocean, sharks, giant squids, poisonous snakes, and the task of finding food, shelter, and clean water on a deserted tropical island.

The console release of the game was originally slated for October 2019, but was delayed after the unexpected closure of publisher Telltale Games. Beam Team Games bought back the console rights, buckled down, and pulled together to ensure that Stranded Deep made its way to consoles.

“Following the closure of the previous publisher we had been partnering with, we bought back the console rights so that we could publish it ourselves, along with the support of industry friends and the community,” said Beam Team Co-Founder Sam Edwards in an announcement post on the PlayStation Blog.

Watch the official trailer below.

“You’ll experience crazy encounters against sharks, giant squid and other sea creatures,” said Edwards. “Defend against attacks on land from wild boar, snakes and other native threats. Hunger, thirst, and exposure will work against you as you brave the elements. It shouldn’t and won’t be easy… but if you survive through it all, you can escape! This is something players haven’t been able to do before, so be the first!”

Stranded Deep launches tomorrow morning at 8am PST for around $20.
