X is a new horror movie from A24 coming to theaters this spring. Writer-director Ti West returns to the big screen with a movie about an adult film shoot gone bad. A film crew arrives at a secluded farmhouse under the impression they have found the perfect shooting location. As seen in the trailer, the group are in for more than they bargained for.
West has a strong horror pedigree that includes movies (The House of the Devil) and television (The Exorcist). A24 has released some of the most renowned genre movies of the past quarter century, including The Witch and Midsommar. The cast includes Mia Goth (2018’s Suspiria) and Jenna Ortega (2022’s Scream).
Due to the impressive resumes of A24 and West, expectations will be high for the film. The setting is reminiscent of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. West has proven in the past he is able to take beloved horror tropes and turn them into something all his own.
X is scheduled to release in theaters March 18
