The biggest new video games releasing the week of 6/13/22

Check out what’s new in the world of video games this week.

The summer of gaming is in full swing! The year started off fantastically, with major releases like Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Horizon Forbidden West to Elden Ring all releasing in early 2022, and that fantastic trend looks to continue through the summer months with bombastic Triple A games and indie darlings releasing left and right.

Let’s check out what games are hitting storefronts this week.

Neon White (6/16)

Neon White is an action-packed speed-running FPS where you control a sinner, White, plucked from Hell to exterminate demons in Heaven. White will be competing against other sinners, called Neons, for a shot at redemption. White will have the ability to collect “soul cards” for unique powers or movement boosts, combine cards to unlock shortcuts, and get to know his fellow Neons, whom he may have been familiar with in a past life. You can check out Angel Matrix’s game on PC and the Nintendo Switch.

Nemesis: Distress (6/15)

Nemesis: Distress, based on the board games from Awaken Realms, releases into Steam Early Access this week. It’s a multiplayer horror game where your goal is to survive and complete your personal objective while another player may be a traitor whose goal is to sabotage the rest. Oh, and of course there’s aliens all over trying to stop you via eating your face off. The developers clearly note that Nemesis: Distress, “is NOT a shooter, in Nemesis you are not the hunter. You are the PREY.”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge (6/16)

Everyone’s favorite pizza-loving heroes in a half-shell are back in another gaming adventure. Developed by Tribute Games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a side-scrolling brawler with pixel-art graphics inspired by the original TMNT animated series and the old arcade games 80s and 90s kids grew up with. It features six-player online and four-player local co-op with Master Splinter, April O’Neil, and Casey Jones being playable alongside the turtles. Shredder’s Revenge releases digitally this week, but if you don’t mind waiting, you can snag one of the many dope physical editions dropping next month with extra goodies.
