Firaxis has released a new trailer for the upcoming Marvel’s Midnight Suns game. More excitingly, the trailer features Venom prominently as well as a post-credits scene with Spider-Man. That is, a version of Spider-Man, as the costume looks brand new.
The game appears to be based on the 1992 story in Ghost Rider #31 by Howard Mackie and Andy Kubert. In that story, the team faced off against Lilith as well, with an original team consisting of Wong, Morbius, Bats, Blade, Doctor Voodoo, Elsa Bloodstone, Iron Fist, Man-Thing, Mr. Knight, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Spider.
Check out the trailer below.
Originally set to debut in March of 2022, Firaxis’ Marvel’s Midnight Suns was delayed to the second half of 2022. The new trailer confirms the game will now debut on October 7th, 2022.
Creative Director Jake Solomon and Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis said on Twitter the delay was due to “we need more time to make this the best game possible.”
The new Spider-Man costume appears to be a mix of steampunk and techno-futuristic design.
Midnight Suns is a tactical RPG with a turn-based combat system, much like the developer’s previous XCOM games. During combat encounters, random abilities will be doled out to the heroes for them to use on enemies. Role-playing is also an important element of the game and players will have the opportunity to socialize with and get to know the Marvel heroes.
