SDCC ’22: Creative Beast Studio unveils first Cyberzoic prototypes

Armored dinosaur toys are back and better than ever with Cyberzoic action figures.

Last fall, AIPT spoke with Creative Beast Studio founder David Silva about the Tyrannosaur wave of his Beasts of the Mesozoic toyline. During our interview, Silva revealed that he was working on another project that would feature warring factions of armored dinosaurs and dragons. The day has finally come.

As you can imagine, the thought of Silva producing such an incredible-sounding toy line got us (and a lot of other folks) excited.

Cyberzoic was officially launched this past March with a slate of mind-blowing concept art. Each Friday after that, Silva treated us to sneak peeks of the design and lore going into the line. This Friday at San Diego Comic-Con, however, he provided the biggest reveal yet: Prototypes for two of Cyberzoic’s main figures.

Even in their unpainted form, the dinosaurs and their pilots look absolutely stunning. It’s also great to see that Silva’s usual attention to detail and scientific accuracy (for the dinosaurs) hasn’t slipped despite adding badass armor/weapons to the mix.

While many of us were saddened when it became clear Mattel had no interest in resurrecting the Dino-Riders line, Cyberzoic appears poised to fill that void while also doing something that’s not only different, but potentially even better.

UPDATE: Arctic Dragon prototype/photos added!
