This week, AMC released another trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Unlike the previous teaser footage, this gives us much more information about what to expect.
Let’s take a look at some of the key highlights:
- Just like before, Daryl somehow washes up on the shores of France as a result of his “bad decisions.” The how and why behind his transatlantic journey remains a mystery.
- During his opening voice-over, we see that his transmission is being heard by a couple of folks who will end up being villains on the show.
- Daryl ends up at a monastery, where he ends up being tasked with protecting a boy named Laurent on a mysterious journey. Lest you think this is a convenient setup to show off Daryl’s paternal side, Laurent is allegedly the key to restarting humanity.
- Predictably, the pair’s journey involves a significant amount of danger and violence.
Wherever Daryl and Laurent go, the story won’t end with six episodes. Both The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and The Walking Dead: Dead City have already been renewed for second seasons. Considering how myopic the major studio heads are being about the SAG-AFTRA strike, however, it could be a while until those projects see the light of day.
In the meantime, the first 10 minutes of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is currently available to AMC+ subscribers. The series will fully debut on September 10, 2023, on both AMC and AMC+.
