As one excellent year for video games ends, another begins. 2024 promises indie darlings and Triple A hits week after week, and those games start launching now.

Pacific Drive (2/22)
Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5
Pacific Drive is a unique blend of video game genres. Combining survival, exploration, and roguelite elements, it places you and your trusty station wagon on a journey through a supernatural-monster-infested Pacific Northwest. You’ll scavenge for resources, brave monster attacks, and unravel the mystery as to what happened at the abandoned research facility Olympic Exclusion Zone. King Arthur: Knight’s Tale (2/22)
Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S
Originally released for PC about two years ago, King Arthur: Knight’s Tale arrives on console this week. You’ll play as Sir Mordred on a quest to kill King Arthur — for the second time — while recruiting knightly allies, fighting in turn-based battles, traversing a dark and dreary world, and influencing the kingdom around you. King Arthur: Knight’s Tale looks to be a great option to scratch your CRPG itch after completing Baldur’s Gate 3 for the twelfth time.
Nightingale (2/20)
Platform: PC
2024 might shape up to be the year of the survival crafting game after Palworld and now Nightingale. Developed by Inflexion Games, led by former Bioware vet Aaron Flynn, Nightingale primarily takes place in a shared gaslamp fantasy world where players can fly around with an umbrella like Mary Poppins and receive quests from Victor Frankenstein. Eventually you’ll gather enough resources to hop between procedurally generated realms, and you can explore solo or cooperatively with up to five other players. Nightingale will remain in Early Access for an estimated nine to twelve months before launching in full. It’ll receive new updates throughout the year, including more story content and realm biomes to explore.
