Cryptozoic Entertainment has launched the Kickstarter campaign for Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Game—and we’re debuting an exclusive first look at one of its standout components: the brand-new Moon Logo Token Holder, inspired by the iconic MST3K moon. This marks the first time fans are getting a full reveal of the upgraded token piece and how it fits into the game’s complete offering.
Based on Joel Hodgson’s beloved cult-comedy series, the tabletop game puts players aboard the Satellite of Love, where they’ll riff on gloriously bad movies using Riff cards or by writing their own jokes on dry-erase cards. Movie scenes appear through Movie Moment cards featuring selections from Roger Corman’s New Horizons library and public-domain classics like Night of the Living Dead, Plan 9 from Outer Space, and House on Haunted Hill. Each bizarre still sets up the perfect opportunity for the rapid-fire wit MST3K is known for.

The Kickstarter launches with a fully loaded package: an expansion, acrylic standees, a playmat, upgraded components, and—of course—the newly revealed Moon Logo Token Holder fans can only see here first. More stretch goals are waiting in the wings as the campaign progresses.
“Mystery Science Theater 3000 has been a favorite of our team for years, and bringing its offbeat humor to the tabletop has been a dream,” said Shahriar Fouladi, CEO of Cryptozoic Entertainment. “We wanted the game to feel authentically MST3K—packed with beloved characters, wonderfully cheesy movies, and endless opportunities to riff with friends. You can even play it alongside your favorite movie by just hitting pause.”
The game supports up to eight players with easy-to-learn rules. One player becomes the Mad and selects Movie Moment cards, challenging the others to deliver their best riffs. Players respond using Riff cards—or their own jokes—and wager Betting Tokens to boost the stakes. The Mad picks the winning riff, awarding points and moving the winner along the Scoreboard of Love.
Backers can choose the Deluxe Edition, which includes an acrylic Movie Moment Display, extra standees, a foil-treated premium box, and all unlocked stretch-goal content. The Bonus Features Expansion brings 50 additional Riff cards and 30 more Movie Moment cards from 15 extra films.
Additional upgrades include a Deluxe Playmat, Metal Mads Token, Plastic Betting Tokens with a cloth bag, and multiple acrylic standee packs. For dedicated MSTies, the newly revealed Moon Logo Token Holder doubles as both a display centerpiece and handy token storage.
The Kickstarter campaign is live now through December 23, with pledge tiers starting at $50. Rewards are scheduled to ship in October 2026, and stretch goals may add even more content and upgrades along the way.
