Leaked ‘Avengers 4’ script details hint at possible Captain America and Iron Man reunion

Let’s call the whole Captain America: Civil War thing off?

Warning: Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War ahead.

Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) have been in a bit of a snafu ever since the events of Captain America: Civil War; going into Avengers: Infinity War, many fans were hoping for the silver lining on Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) devastating incursion to be some sort of reconciliation between the two Avengers founding members.

Infinity War screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, in a recent interview with Yahoo, reveal that Captain America and Iron Man actually were supposed to reunite in the film:

Our first sort of wonky draft [had] the idea that they had to get back in the same room together and deal with that.

[But it] meant that you’re slowing down your Thanos [Infinity] Stones [quest] to deal with other threats from other movies. And that became, as much as we wanted to do, and as many times as we wrote those scenes, it became clear that this movie needed to be propulsive and be about Thanos and what he represented to the Avengers.

Does that mean the reunion of the Beatles of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have to wait for Avengers 4? Will the reunion of Captain America and Iron Man be a significant moment for you? Sound off in the comments.
