Tuesday afternoon Netflix released the premier date alongside a teaser trailer for the third and final season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones.
Netflix announced the cancellation of both The Punisher and Jessica Jones in February of this year.
“In addition, in reviewing our Marvel programming, we have decided that the upcoming third season will also be the final season for Marvel’s Jessica Jones. We are grateful to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, star Krysten Ritter and the entire cast and crew, for three incredible seasons of this groundbreaking series, which was recognized by the Peabody Awards among many others,” said Netflix on its decision to cancel Jessica Jones.
The teaser is a quick one, only about 20 seconds long in which someone is walking down the hallway towards Alias Investigations, and as they walk a male voice is heard saying “Jessica Jones, you are a fraud. You’re a cheater. No longer.” A hand wearing a black glove bangs on Jessica’s door, followed by the view shifting briefly to our hero on the opposite side of the door, who appears to be confused and possibly scared.
The image quickly pans to the man’s face bathed in red light, followed by an extreme close up on a visibly upset Jessica’s face, and then to a person darting down a hallway. This all happens in less than a second, and after ten or so attempts I managed to pause the video at the exact right moment and captured the stranger’s face.
Who do you think this stranger obsessed with ending Jessica’s “fraudulent” and “cheating” ways could be? Sound off in the comments and let us know.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones’ third and final season will premier on Netflix on June 14, 2019.
