Director Taika Waititi is returning to direct ‘Thor 4’ for Marvel Studios, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
Waititi also directed 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, which was seen as a welcome change of pace and tone for the God of Thunder’s movie franchise. Ragnarok raked in almost $854 million worldwide at the box office, and was critically acclaimed.
‘Thor 4’ comes after Endgame, which — SPOILERS — means Loki would be dead in this timeline. It is unknown at this time if the character will appear in any way.
This announcement also comes at a cost for fans of action movies: Warner Bros’ long-awaited adaptation of Akira is also set to be directed by Waititi, and will be pushed back even further as a result of ‘Thor 4.’
