Adventures in Movies! Episode 52: The highs and lows of Blaxploitation

The boys talk Blaxploitation.

Danny, Blake, and Nathaniel discuss one of the most groundbreaking, innovative, and controversial genres of all time. Blaxploitation is responsible for some of the most memorable films in cinema history. It has also drawn its fair share of criticism. The three discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of Blaxploitation.

Every few weeks, Disney makes another decision that further proves they are taking over the world and will be our lords and masters sooner rather than later. Their latest move towards complete conquest is to remove the recently acquired Fox name from iconic logos. How will Danny defend this move?

The boys talk about what they have recently watched. There is further conversation about Little Women and 1917, a deeper look at HBO’s The Outsider, and Danny gets his wish as a returning television show goes after #metoo.

This week’s main segment is Blaxploitation. Favorite movies, the decline of the genre, and how it is so controversial are all explored. Plus, Blake puts everyone in their place.
