X-Men news: Jonathan Hickman reveals Ramon Perez to replace Ben Oliver on ‘Giant-Size X-Men: Magneto’

After multiple delays, Jonathan Hickman reveals what’s going on with ‘Giant-Size X-Men: Magneto.’

X-Men Monday is a little more exciting this week thanks to Jonathan Hickman. He has taken over the column and is answering your questions and there are plenty of interesting facts and news to be had. One of the biggest came up when the question of artists he’d like to work with was asked.

As you might not know, the Giant-Size X-Men one-shot series features a different artist each issue and is written in the Marvel style to give the artist more control over the story. Hickman has some amazing artists lined up already, like Russell Dauterman on Giant-Size X-Men: Jean Grey & Emma Frost, and he revealed another artist he’ll be working with soon is Ramon Perez. They’re working on a book already announced though known as Giant-Size X-Men: Magneto.

But wait, isn’t Ben Oliver drawing that issue? When answering, Hickman revealed,

Oh, on the artist front I should point out that you may have noticed that we swapped the order of Giant-Size: Magneto and Giant-Size: Nightcrawler. The reason for that is because Ben Oliver had some stuff come up and couldn’t do the book. So because Alan was so far ahead, we swapped them and I’m happy to say that Ramon Perez is going to do the Magneto one now.

So Ramon comes off the list of awesome people I’ll haven’t worked with yet and, unfortunately, Ben goes back on.

It’s unfortunate Ben Oliver won’t be able to work on Magneto, but it’s going to be exciting to see what Perez brings to the one-shot. If you’re unfamiliar with his work check out his run on Nova, it’s out of this world good. Check out a page from Perez’s work on Wolverine and the X-Men below.
