With the pandemic continuing to limit new comic book releases we dive into Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen’s Nextwave talking about what works, what doesn’t, and where it goes from here.
This week we also feature an interview with Gene Luen Yang about Superman Smashes the Klan out in collected format May 12. We discuss the series, his run on Super-Man, his upcoming Marvel Comics series Shang-Chi, and more!
Before we get into that though we discuss the top news of the week. At the top of our news, new Marvel Comics coming next week, digital comics shop shutting down, Rosenberg comments on Hawkeye being one of the books, advance copies of Black Widow out with no release date.
Also, DC Comics going big in June, over $950,000 going to comic stores via BINC May 12th, Diamond says May 20 orders “Better than we thought”, Tom Taylor teases a bunch of projects like an upcoming Superman, DCeased: Dead Planet, and Seven Secrets. Humanoids are working with Hero Initiative, Mad Cave showcasing virtual convention, Marvel extending free access to some stories in Marvel Unlimited through June 2, and finally, Image Comics gives a June solicit update.
