Yesterday, AMC released a behind the scenes look at the the upcoming second season of NOS4A2. The video features a brief primer with executive producer/showrunner Jami O’Brien, interviews with series’ main cast, and previously unseen footage.
Also, Ashleigh Cummings (Vic McQueen) joins The Outsider‘s Cynthia Erivo on my list of English and Australian actors who do such a good American accent that it’s shocking to hear them speak in their natural voice.
The biggest revelation from this featurette is that we’re going to see a great deal of Manx’s backstory before he became the creator/proprietor of Christmasland. Much like Vic and Lou Carmody (Jonathan Langdon) still being together, this is a departure from the source material that also has a ton of great potential.
Another major change from Joe Hill’s NOS4A2 appears to be a greater emphasis on Charlie Manx’s daughter, Millie (Mattea Conforti). The character played a crucial role in The Wraith: Welcome to Christmasland (a comic prequel to the novel), but her role in the television series looks like it’s going to be even bigger.
Season 2 of NOS4A2 premieres Sunday, June 21 at 10:00 PM EST on AMC.
