World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the eighth expansion set to Blizzard’s long-running MMORPG, is set to be released on October 27th. The release date was announced today at Gamescom, Europe’s largest gaming convention, alongside a new trailer for the game.
Shadowlands follows the events of the current expansion, Battle For Azeroth, and takes players to the realm of death itself, promising the return of many beloved characters who have bitten the bullet over the years. Shadowlands also boasts five new zones, a new player hub in Oribos, and several new systems and mechanics such as Covenants. Shadowlands will also reduce the maximum level cap down to 60 in an attempt to address growing power creep issues.
As is custom for Blizzard games in the past few years, Shadowlands will be released at the same time globally, meaning players in the western hemisphere will actually be able to play on October 26. You can look at the chart below to see when you’ll be able to play:
