AIPT Comics Podcast Episode 117: Comicstorian talks his YouTube/podcast empire, writing ‘Bloodshot’, & more

Comics commentator and Valiant writer Comicstorian joins the comics podcast!

This week on the comics podcast, Nathan and Dave have Comicstorian on the show to talk about his backup story in Bloodshot #12 and his comics YoutTube and Podcasting empire. We dig into the 9 years he’s spent building up comics commentary YouTube channels, tips on how the YouTube algorithm works, and more!

Before that, we discuss the biggest news of the week starting with…Space Jam!? Once the joke wears off, we discuss San Diego Comic-Con announcing the 2021 in-person convention for Thanksgiving Weekend and how creators reacted. Also in big news that started the week, X-Men Monday 100 reveals a few bits of news like Victor LaValle joining the X-Office.

Sticking to Marvel news, Marvel Comics is kicking off Extreme Carnage Alpha #1 this July, C.B. Cebulski reveals Venom #34 will reveal who the classified character and he teased a new Moon Knight series coming soon. Oh, and John Romita Jr. is set to return to Marvel Comics in July, but sadly Marvel’s New Predator Comic Series DelayedMarvel did tease new heroes and villains are coming in The Marvels #1 and announced Chip Zdarsky and Mark Bagley will join forces on Spider-Man: Life Story Annual #1.

In indie comics news, AfterShock is launching YA imprint Seismic Press with Rainbow Bridge, Image Comics revealed new art and creators attached to Spawn Universe, and the comics podcast crew discusses the complicated nature of voting for a DC Comics story arc.
