HBO is launching its Game of Thrones prequel on August 21 and it goes by the name House of the Dragon. Today, HBO has released a teaser trailer giving viewers a chance to see all the melodrama of royalty is back anew in this series.
It’s been a while since we got a new look at House of the Dragon with the last teaser released back in October. The series is set 200 years before the events in the original series and is created by George R.R. Martin (based on his book Fire & Blood) and showrunners Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik.
Watch the trailer below.
House of the Dragon stars Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders) as King Viserys / Targaryen, Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy (Wanderlust) as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Prince Daemon Targaryen.
The series will feature ten episodes and, with some luck, change minds about how awful Game of Thrones is after its dismal finale. Based on what we can see in the teaser, it appears the dragon eggs will be a key feature of the series. As we all know who have seen Game of Thrones, that egg sparks the rise of Daenerys Targaryen with her three dragons.
