Yesterday, StarWars.com celebrated the second Obi-Wan Wednesday with a pair of reveals for the Star Wars: Black Series toyline. Despite the major backlog of preorders lately, these two figures are sure to pique folks’ interest — especially since they’re based on characters/events from Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s fantastic third episode.
Ben Kenobi (Tibidon Station)
It may not come with the LOLA droid accessory, but this is definitely the version of the character I’d rather get. The sculpt, portrait, and soft goods cloak look fantastic.
If you already preordered the first version, however, then don’t worry — Ben Kenobi (Tibidon Station) is a Target exclusive. That means an extra $3 tacked onto the retail price ($27.99). Those lucky enough to beat the scalper bots and place a preorder will then have to wonder if/when they’ll get an email announcing that their purchase has been canceled.
If you’re still determined to go through the hassle, then the figure will be available for preorder on Thursday at 1:00 PM EDT with expected arrival in Spring 2023.
Darth Vader
If there’s any difference between this version of Darth Vader and the last couple that have been released, then someone smarter and/or more detail-oriented than I will need to point it out. This figure is a great chance to add Vader to your Black Series collection if you still need him, but an easy pass otherwise.
I’d also be surprised if another version featuring Hayden Christensen’s scarred likeness isn’t released later on (albeit with a “deluxe” price point).
Darth Vader will retail for $24.99 and be sold at most major retailers. It will be available for preorder on Thursday at 1:00 PM with expected arrival in Spring 2023.
