The summer of gaming is in full swing! The year started off fantastically, with major releases like Pokémon Legends: Arceus to Horizon Forbidden West to Elden Ring all releasing in early 2022, and that fantastic trend looks to continue through the summer months with bombastic Triple A games and indie darlings releasing left and right.
Let’s check out what games are hitting storefronts this week.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (6/30)
A large expansion for Monster Hunter Rise arrives on both Switch and PC this week. Sunbreak adds new characters, a new outpost, more difficult quests, and the Switch Skill Swap, which allows hunters to easily switch between different skill loadouts. New weapons, armor, and monsters to hunt will also be included. The digital version of the expansion will cost you $39.99 or $49.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which includes extra armor, gestures, and hairstyles.
Outriders Worldslayer (6/30)
Online co-op shooter Outriders also receives its first expansion to close out the month. Worldslayer brings a ton of new content to the game, including new zones, enemies, and over 100 new Legendary weapons, armor, and mods. The expansion will include a new campaign story as well as tweaks to Outriders‘ endgame. Worldslayer will be accessible for players old and new — players new to the game can use a Level 30 boost to get a brand-new character ready to tackle the expansion.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course (6/29)
Four years after its reveal, Cuphead receives a DLC update this week. After being delayed by the pandemic and StudioMDHR’s fantastic approach to the well-being of its developers, The Delicious Last Course is ready to launch. It adds new playable character Ms. Chalice, weapons, charms, and location, Inkwell Isle — and, of course, plenty of difficult foes. Prepare to die, because Cuphead‘s final challenging adventure will give you no quarter as you attempt to uncover the mystery of Legendary Chalice’s secret quest.
