On Tuesday, Hasbro revealed an Amazon-exclusive Marvel Legends multi-pack featuring two Life Foundation symbiotes (Riot and Agony) along with a brand new version of Eddie Brock’s Venom. The figures will come packaged in a box featuring artwork from Ryan Stegman.
The story of the Life Foundation Symbiotes is a ’90s-era mess of craziness that I won’t get into here. Regarding the toys, Marvel Legends previously released the other team members (Phage, Scream, and Lasher) a few years ago. Agony and Riot (who we saw on display last week during San Diego Comic-Con) will finally complete the team. For us Gen X and Millennial collectors who have a symbiote shelf, this set is a big deal.
The 3-pack also comes with a great version of Eddie Brock/Venom that can replace an older model or be easily sold on eBay.
Sadly, the set comes with a hefty $78 price tag, making it $26 per figure. You could argue that there’s some value added due to Riot’s deluxe size, but I still refuse to acknowledge Hasbro’s $25 base figure price as normal. Thankfully, I’ve held off on so many other figures I would’ve bought a few years ago that I can preorder this must-buy pack, which is expected to arrive in November.
