After initially having a spring 2022 release window before being delayed to October 2022, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been pushed back once more. In Take Two’s financial earnings report today, the game was listed for release sometime in their 2023 fiscal year, which ends in March.
For the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game, the delay may be even worse. Midnight Suns has a TBA release date for the last-gen versions, meaning it’ll most likely launch even later on those platforms than it will for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
“We have made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K deliver the best possible experience for our fans,” Take Two said of the delay. Hopefully the additional time means less crunch for the developers as they work to deliver would could be a very unique addition to Marvel’s growing dominance in superhero gaming. The tactical RPG from XCOM developer Firaxis will take players to a supernatural corner of the Marvel universe and will feature characters like Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Blade.
At least we’ll be able read a kick-ass Midnight Suns limited series while we wait!
