Savage Crucible Kickstarter reveals new stretch goals

And they’re all added accessories at no additional cost.

On Friday, the Savage Crucible Kickstarter announced a series of stretch goals to accompany the Waves 1, 2, and 3 of their new action figure line. Unlike most Kickstarters, however, these will not be additional items for purchase. Instead, they will be accessories that are added to figures and figure packs at no extra cost.

Savage Crucible creator William Robert Post explained how the stretch goals would work in a recent update:

“So what is next? Let me start with what is not next for this KICKSTARTER project. We will not place anymore [sic] Action Figures or Action figure Accessories in this KICKSTARTER for purchase. It is very tempting to keep adding items for people to purchase but that puts an extremely unfair burden on the fans. While wave 4 is certainly in the works, that wave will be made for preorder outside of the KICKSTARTER later down the road. We have zero desire to hold onto anybody’s money for multiple years before delivering a product. Adding Wave 4 to the KICKSTARTER would certainly create a delivery date pushing the 2 year mark which is not something we want to entertain at the moment.

However, towards the end of next week we will start to reveal stretch goals. These stretch goals are items such as free to download STL files or additional small items to include in a few select figures. These will be more in line with items that either you have not seen or not currently included with the current load outs of the action figures or the accessory packs. The KICKSTARTER is not finished but we do not want to burden people with a large offering that may sure some collectors away as being too much of a financial burden.”

Today, we got to see a few of those stretch goals along with some tantalizing pictures:

As you can see, the first stretch goal has already been unlocked.

I’ll admit that as cool as these are, my status as a Pirahnoid/Wave 3 devotee means I’m not personally as charged up as I should be for these — at least not yet. That said, it also might get me to buy a Barbarian character pack to hook into one of the Pirahnoid alternate heads to recreate this awesome illustration by Yannis Rubus Rubulias.

But even if I don’t snag one, these stretch goals are all bonuses for everyone involved — especially if Wave 1 or Wave 2 is where your heart is. It’s also nice to see a toy company actively adding value to their figures rather than finding new ways to squeeze money out of their fans/customers.
