What the MCU Spider-Man 4 could be

There’s lots to work with.

It has been reported that the fourth MCU Spidey film will be filming sometime this year. Plot details and new cast are still in the development stages and it’s very unclear what the film will hold.

When we last saw our hero Peter Parker, he came across his two other Spidey variants (Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire) and they fought against almost all of the villains from the previous Spider-Man movies. In order to send everyone back to their respective universe, Doctor Strange casts a spell to make everyone forget about Peter Parker.

With that being said, MJ and Ned and all of Parker’s associates have no recollection of who he is and Parker is forced to start all over with nothing and nobody. So, how will the MCU handle the rest of Peter Parker’s story?

There are certainly a few ways the filmmakers can make a compelling fourth entry in the Spidey-universe.

For starters, they could have Peter Parker fight a new villain that audiences haven’t seen yet. We’ve seen a litany of Spidey villains on screen but there are still a few that we have yet to see or ones that have been undercut by screen time or problematic circumstances. It would be nice if we saw Kraven the Hunter or Mac Gargan’s Scorpion on the screen battling it out with the web head.

What the MCU Spider-Man 4 could be

The former is going to be played by Aaron Taylor Johnson in the Sony Spider-Man Universe and the latter made a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which didn’t do him justice at all. It seems only fair to circle back to old villains and expound upon them.

Another thought would be to see Peter Parker team up with Miles Morales in live-action form this time. It was already revealed in Spider-Man: Homecoming that the Prowler is related to Miles Morales as he called him after Spidey webbed him to his own car. It seems that the MCU has been teasing this for years and it only makes sense that fans finally get what they want in a live-action iteration.

The jury is still out on the details of the film, but it’s going to be very exciting to see what could become of this next Spider-Man spectacle. Who knows? Garfield and Maguire might even decide to come back too.
