Three perfect 10s as four publishers land spots in the five best comics of the week!

Welcome back to another edition of Fantastic Five, where we give props to the best comics of the week! This week was a varied one, as four publishers landed spots in the top five – four of them are also #1 issues, as well. It was also a particularly exemplary week as three issues scored a perfect 10. Let’s take a look at the books!

#4: Danger Street #4

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of March 15, 2023

Danger Street #4 continues to deliver modern and mature superhero comics you rarely see. This is the narrative you show someone who makes fun of comics, not because it’s adult, but because it’s nuanced and takes every scene very seriously.

#3: The Forged #1

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of March 15, 2023

#2: Hellcat #1

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of March 15, 2023

The book doesn’t miss a step from Cantwell’s Iron Man run, yet it also immediately forges a bloody, dreamlike path all its own. I’m a little bit in awe of the work that has already gone into this first issue, and I eagerly await the next chapter.

#1: Superman: Lost #1

Fantastic Five: The best comics of the week of March 15, 2023

Priest, Pagulayan, Paz, and Cox unite as a tremendous force, crafting a beautiful story that tests Lois and Clark’s relationship while showing fans how wild their world can be. A Superman shaken to his core and estranged from his wife seems to be a welcoming story for the Man of Tomorrow.
