On Tuesday, Pamela McClintock and Aaron Couch of The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Disney has done a major reshuffling of its upcoming movie release dates — including a large slate of Marvel projects.
While no reason was given, it’s a safe bet that the ongoing (and 100% justified) writers’ strike is playing a major factor. Even for movies that are in the middle of filming, not having writers there to touch up or rework the script is a major obstacle.
The following list isn’t a complete look at the changed release dates, but it does cover most of the films that folks reading this site will be interested in. We also learned that the untitled/upcoming Alien movie for Hulu will debut on August 24, 2024.
- Captain America: Brave New World: Delayed from May 3, 2024 to July 26, 2024
- Thunderbolts: Delayed from July 26, 2024 to December 20, 2024

- Fantastic Four: Delayed from February 14, 2025 to May 2, 2025.

- Avengers: Secret Wars: Delayed from May 1, 2026 to May 7, 2027.
