On Tuesday, Marvel Studios announced via its official Twitter account that Captain America: New World Order has changed its title to Captain America: Brave New World. The news was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes photo of star Anthony Mackie talking with Harrison Ford (which is really cool to see).

So why the name change?
No official reason has been given yet, although it could have something to do with the yet-to-be-revealed story. There’s also a good chance that the film’s name was changed so that Alex Jones fans don’t target the movie’s opening as a government conspiracy linked to gay frogs. You could point out that naming the film after Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World is equally risky, but I’d counter that most of Alex Jones’ fans aren’t generally big readers.
Whatever the case, Captain America’s fourth film outing (the first with Mackie as Sam Wilson in the starring role) looks all types of interesting — especially now that they’re bringing in folks from the first MCU Hulk movie that many of us thought would never get mentioned again.
Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2024.
