Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero puts Goku and Vegeta’s rivalry on full display in new gameplay trailer

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero can’t come soon enough!

The Budokai Tenkaichi series lives on — this year, I hope! — with the recently revealed Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Bandai Namco provided fans with their first look at the game since last month’s The Game Awards trailer, and this new trailer showcased the series’ defining rivalry: Goku v. Vegeta.

We get to see the two Saiyans duke it out through sagas, on different planets, and in various SSJ forms, from the base Super Saiyan all the way up to Super Saiyan Blue. No characters or forms from Dragon Ball GT have been shown off yet, but with a playable roster as big as this — where Goku and Vegeta comprise at least 24 slots —  I’m comfortably optimistic we’ll see a Super Saiyan 4 or two.

Check out the size of the roster!

The trailer also showcases devastating combos, some Great Ape gameplay, and environmental destruction, not to mention the gorgeous character designs and detailed locales. We still don’t have a release date for Sparking! Zero, but it’ll launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S when it does come out. Check out the Rivals Trailer below, as well a trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot‘s upcoming DLC “Goku’s Next Journey” featuring none other than Uub.
