Mezco ONE:12 COLLECTIVE The Amazing Spider-Man – Deluxe Edition review

Spider-Man gets brand new accessories in new Mezco ONE:12 action figure.

Mezco Toys has made its fair share of Spider-Man action figures, but one of its newest is no mere regular action figure. Dubbed the “deluxe edition,” this action figure comes with light-up eyes, Spidey-sense waves, and never-before-seen web accessories. For the super action figure aficionado, you will likely be buying this action figure for the web parachute alone.

Starting with the packaging, this action figure comes in the slightly newer Mezco packaging that’s efficient and tightly packed in a decent-sized box. Fans will note the classic art, along with art from Marvel Comics scattered across the box.

Mezco ONE:12 COLLECTIVE The Amazing Spider-Man - Deluxe Edition review Mezco ONE:12 COLLECTIVE The Amazing Spider-Man - Deluxe Edition reviewAs usual for Mezco action figures, the costume is made of cloth. The front looks great in the classic costume style, with plastic pieces that allow the red webbed area to look quite good. It has a plastic feel, but it bends nicely when posed. Unfortunately, the back of the figure leaves a bit to be desired, as you can see below the stitching. It creates a slightly ugly look that breaks the seamless suit.

As far as accessories, there’s a lot to this action figure, some of which you might even miss when looking at the listing. One accessory feature is to light up the eyes in one of the heads. After getting the battery inserted. and believe me, it’s hard to crack it open; you pop in two batteries supplied by Mezco. It’s a neat effect, though the switch is so small that I doubt folks will have the patience to turn him on a lot. There are four eyes, one featuring a half-mask look with glasses. It’s a great and unique head.

Other accessories include the web parachute, a web backpack, a web shield, 16 hands, additional webs, a newspaper, a camera, two gizmos, a bunched-up mask, and glasses. The newspaper is tiny, yet the details and readability are impressive.

The spidey sense attachment is also a nice compliment to the action figure. As you can see in the image below, it clips onto the stand. It almost looks like a halo at the wrong angle, but it’s a nice touch when looking at him head on.

Mezco ONE:12 COLLECTIVE The Amazing Spider-Man - Deluxe Edition review

This action figure certainly stands by the deluxe naming with web effects and cool details that set it apart from any other Spider-Man action figure in your collection. Aside from the annoying stitching on the lower back, this is an excellent action figure with features you’ll need if you’re an avid collector.
